    1. [PACE-L] Puzzling DNA results
    2. I forgot that forwarding doesn't work well on the list so here is my comment again. Julie I don't have my notes in front of me but I believe that this is the other Pace family that is in Fannin Co. that I have seen inquiries for years about. My David W. Pace son of Ruel, son of David and Elizabeth Rose was also in Fannin Co. TX. In my letters from J.K. Street during the Civil War, he writes to his wife on Friday Feb. 20th 1863 "Dear you remember that Miss M.E. Pace who used to get your letters "by mistake"? She is now Mrs. M.E. Finney. I have formed the acquaintance of her husband - he belongs to the 15th Tex, Bennett's old company from Lamar, he is a Baptist preacher and chaplain of the 15th - he is a fine man - unlike our chaplain, he dresses like the rest of us - takes his gun and goes into every fight - he is well beliked by all his company - infact he has won the admiration of the whole Brigd. He frequently comes to my tent and we pass the time very pleasantly. We were speaking the other day of the fact of us both having married ladies of the same name - dame initials- and uet in no ways related. They were married about a month after we were dear. The reason you never got any of his letters to her "by mistake" - she told him to address her letters to Mitch Mcquistan for reasons that she would afterwards explain." I don't know that this will help anyone right now but somewhere down the line it might. My Melinda Elizabeth Pace was living with Sion and Martha Pace along with her brother David and sister Eugenia. David then moved to Fannin Co. and so there were I believe TWO David Pace's then in Fannin Co. My David was married to Mary. I hope this helps someone out there. Julie
