    3. Oops, I counted wrong, but it reinforces the conclusion. At 25 markers, the match between the Tedford line and the modal for Pace Group 3b is only 19/25 with one of the mismatches a 2-step differences. Definitely no match between the two families. Pace" <bapace2@juno.com>, pace-l@rootsweb.com I just went and re-ran the Ysearch comparison. The results for your brother as posted on Ysearch (ID = M8PV7) include only 12 markers and include a mutation or change to 30 at DYS 389ii from the modal results of the rest of Group 3b. It really isn't possible to draw any kind of conclusion with only 12 markers and two different surnames - whether they match or not. Twelve markers is insufficient between different surnames and in many cases aren't enough when the surnames are the same to draw meaningful conclusions. In this case, if you compare the modal (most common) 12 marker results of Pace Group 3b with the posted Tedford results, the match is only 10/12. But if you compare the rest of the modal Pace Group 3b results up to 25 markers with the Tedford results, the "match" falls apart even more. That is, comparing the modal 25 marker Pace Group 3b results with the Tedford results (Ysearch ID 5NG75) the match is only 20/25 with one of the differences being a 2-step difference. So, there is no need to go looking for a Pace-Tedford connection at this point. The DNA suggests there is no connection. Rebecca Christensen "Betty A. I know of no Tedford connection to the Paces. I don't see how it could be in the male line of Paces. Does anyone know of such a link? We think we are linked to Richard I through John & Sarah Burge PACE. Betty Pace --------- Forwarded message ---------- william.g.tilford@boeing.com wrote: > Dear David J.
