Has any definitive research been done on the parents of Isabel Smythe? I know from researching my mother's English-Welsh family that English people most often followed a naming pattern for their children. That suggests that either the father of Richard I or the father of Isabel was a George, thus accounting for the name of their first son. Also generally English people married in the home parish of the bride. Betty Pace
