    2. darlene
    3. A Descendent of Ruben Pace went to Surry and cked Records and she found this so we know Richmond Pace was alive in May 1781 and may have still been alive in 1782, does "Entered" mean it could have just been entered in the Records? wonder why it would not have been Put in wifes name Elizabeth Pace if Richmond was dead? because in Most cases I have seen in the Alabama Pace's The courts usually named an Exec or Commisioner to handle records after a death went into probate...I don't know what the rules were on deaths if no Will left .. they often go into probate and you have just so long after one death to petition a change of name on Deed.. I know in Missouri you had one month... Does anyone know what the range was in NC ? I also know what Burrell reports on his petition June 28 1781. Could Burrill Pace brother of Richmond Pace tried to have gotten Richmond land while Richmond was still alive just because he fought against the Patriot Side.. for some reason Burrill was denied... Does anyone know why it was denied? Could Richmond still been alive and the General Assembly knew it ? From Gwenn descendent of Ruben Pace Only land owner information I found was that Richmond Pace bought 152 acres on Fishers River issued May 24,1780 entered in 1782. Surry County..I ask when it says issued does that mean it was a land Grant or something? This land of Richmond Pace was not passed down to Ruben Pace as he bought his own land in 1802 400 Acres and he did have an older woman in his HH until after 1830Census and she was gone before the 1840 Cen and I received his Will and and land left to his Sister Sarh/Sally Shepherd , and Nephew Henry Shepherd and two different Vaughns and have not figure out how the Vaughns figure into his family.. So Wonder why Bruce Howard thinks Ruben Paceb- abt 1780 per Cen, was son of Richmond Pace... just asking questions here and trying to sort out proof of our Surry Co NC Pace's as I sure hate to assume or think supposedly... at least I am finding some proof....but no absolute Answers one Thing I am Certain of there is no Mention of Ruben Pace prior to 1802 buying Land and 1810 Cen Surry Co NC, He would have been abt30 yrs old wonder where he was before, possibly with Mother who remarried ... According to Gwenn she only found records in Surry Co NC for these three Pace's in Surry Co NC, Richmond Pace, Ruben Pace and Edmond Pace... John Pace Land ( per Bruce Book pages 224 and 225 excerpt from Bruce's book: (We have further discussed the property which was granted in his name and how that property was separated into two tracts one for Mrs. Sarah Pace and the other for Richmond's widow, Elizabeth Pace. There is no doubt that Elizabeth remarried after the war ended and life began to settle down in the area. ...............She was still Elizabeth Pace in the year 1782, but is never found in any record by that name after that year.") My question, why on Earth would John Pace property be divided to Sarah Pace and Richmond's Wife Elizabeth ... If Richmond had his own land...152 Acres ??? Another question ... I have no answers, just does not make sense .... also I keep wondering if Ruben Pace b- abt 1780 was son of John Pace and Sarah Burge, Sarah would have been abt 45 years of age.. using the year of her Birth 1735...and I know I was born to my Mother when she was 43 years of age, so also a possibility....Here I am using possibly ((((Grin)))) Darlene Pace
