Richard Pace, II was born in latter part of 1637 in Virginia. This relationship is firmly established by Richard’s 1655 guardianship records: 'Richard Pace, the orphan and heire of George Pace, dec’d.' Richard Pace, at the age of around seventeen, inherited 1,700 acres of land. Being a minor but over the age of fourteen, Richard had the right to choose his own guardian and he chose William Baugh. Immediately upon coming of age, Richard Pace filed a confirmation of his father’s sale of 800 or 900 acres to Thomas Drew. This document had been drawn up on June 4, 1655 while Richard was still a minor and was rerecorded on May 9, 1659. 1655 June 4 Whereas Rich'd Pace the orphan and Heire of Geo. Pace dec'ed hath at this Co'rt made choice of and humbly Desired Confirm'con of mr. William Baugh to be Guardian of him and his estate dureing his minority. The Co'rt doth therefore hereby grant and confirme his said request requireing the sd Guardian to mannage duly and justly all estate belonging to the sd orphan giveing yearly aacco't to the Co'rt of the same and the improvement delivering the whole to the sd orphane at his full age. [p.151, V.H.G., Boddie]) 1689 William Briscoe died leaving everything to live-in Anne Holden, rather than wife Mary Pace Briscoe. 1689/90 Mary Pace Briscoe married Nicolas Whittmore, moved to his plantation IMPORTANT: What WAS this about? 1692 "The matter of the account between Thomas Kirkland v. Nicholas Whitmore and Mary, his wife, admix. of Richard Pace, one of the executors of Hugh Kirkland, is referred to Capt. Taylor and Capt. Perry for audit." Charles City (had to do with child Hannah Petts or Pitts, stepchild of John Barker, 1662) Only note I see at moment regarding above: Following out the conditions of his brother-in-law, Richard Taylor, he gave to Thomas Drew, his "father-in-law," 30000 lbs. of good tobacco to guarantee him from all trouble for maintaining Hannah Pitt or Pett, daughter of his wife. The deed of gift was witnessed by Richard Pace and Richard Taylor.
