WELL..... Historical Southern Families, Vol. XI, p.264 1. Samuel Jordan was b. in Eng. and came to America in the "SEA VENTURE" in 1609, being wrecked on an island in the Bermudas. Also in the same ship were John Rolfe and other adventurers, ............ Got to VA. granted 250 acres... Samuel's estate known as "Jordan's Journey", situated across from Berkeley. HE WAS A YOUNG WIDOWER WHEN HE ARRIVED IN AMERICA, HAVING LEFT THREE SONS, THOMAS, SAMUEL, AND ROBERT, in England. He married second, Cicely Reynolds, issue 3 daughters..... Son Samuel settled in Surry Co., son ROBERT was killed by Indians. Son Thomas came to America in the ship "Diana" in 1623. THOMAS married LUCY CORKER daughter of Capt. WILLIAM CORKER of Surry Co....... who was the son of CAPT JOHN CORKER known to have been in Jamestown by 1637. Will of WILLIAM CORKER, Surry Co. 9/4/1677.
