Regarding the argument that the child Sarah Maycock could not have been granted land, therefore the Sarah Maycock referred to must have been a grown woman, probably the widow of Samuel: I'm not an expert but it does not seem to be the case that a child could not be granted land. When this was being discussed recently on this list, one poster posted an example of a child being granted land. There is nothing to support it (i.e. no trace of a Mr Maycock).
