Recently I stopped by the Benton Co. AR county courthouse for a quick visit while on vacation. Saw a few Paces in the old records. I believe these are from the Henning Pace line. If anyone's interested, contact the court clerk's office. They said they could mail copies from their microfilm. - Gideon G. Pace, county sheriff, was indexed several times, selling land in the 1840s. I have read elsewhere that he was a son of Henning Pace. (Didn't Henning also have a brother named Gideon?) - Alsey Pace and wife Mary sold land in 1841 (Deed Book A). There's an "A. Pace" listed in the 1840 census, age 30-40-perhaps it's this Alsey. Federal land records indicate Alsey Pace was also granted land in 1843 in Benton Co. near the land of Christopher S. Pace. Other Paces also were in Benton Co..this was a whirlwind visit and I was primarily looking for a different surname. Just posting this so if anyone doesn't have these records they could pursue it further with Benton Co. AR courthouse. - Joyce Harris
