Pace Gordon: Do you have good DNA evidence that the children of Benjamin J. Pace and Catherine are in the line going back to John Pace of Middlesex, VA? Also, sometime ago, on a Pace mailing list which you are the administrator the folowing note was posted: I would like to get in touch with Arleta if at all possible. My old email address was at cjnetworks.com; however, I haven't had that address for at least five years. Henry Lewis Pace Posted by: Arleta Howe Date: February 28, 2002 at 05:57:50 of 3578 Would like to find anyone connected to these families. Thank you in advance for any information in helping me find my aunts and uncles and cousins. The family had a beautiful farm in Eugene, Oregon for quite a few years in the ?-1950-1960-1970s. Henry Lewis PACE b: 19 Jun 1904 Kentucky, d: Nov 1971 Eugene, Lane Co., OR married Grace Emma BROWN (m: 22 Dec 1928 Norwalk, Los Angeles Co., CA) b: 20 May 1906 Pasadena, CA, d: 26 Feb 1983 Albany, Linn Co., OR (Father: Willis Edwin BROWN, Mother: Mabel Edna GARDNER Children: 1 John Robert PACE b: 1925 m1 Coeta RAGSDALE, m2 Virginia ?, m3 Colleen HAUN. 2 William Lewis PACE b: 1931 m Eleanor HALL. 3 Sylvanus Hubert PACE b: 1933 m Connie STOME. 4 Sylvester Elbert PACE b: 1933 m Betty LANG. I have an Uncle and a Cousin both males who are direct descendants of Benjamin. I have tried to get them to give some DNA; however, so far I have not had any luck. The only other male Paces that I know in this direct line are the last three listed above and I think at least two of them are dead. William may have had a son, and I don't know about the other two. John Robert Pace was adopted as he was the son of Grace Emma Brown, who had been married previously before she married Henry, this is according to my mother who was an older sister to Henry Lewis Pace. In fact, my oldest sister lived for a while with Henry and Grace. He was the son of Grace Emma Brown.
I also worked on this, and, through census records, came up with the same conclusions/line through Benjamin Pace and Catherine Hawkins. Roy Johnson posted two emails about this. On the last one he did say "Nancy". But the first one says "My name is William Charles Pace". Seems to me that he would be a good candidate for DNA if no other Pace male from this line has been tested. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Elborn Mendenhall" <alspace@cox.net> To: <PACE-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 13, 2005 5:55 PM Subject: Re: [PACE-L] William Floyd Pace KY to KS > At 04:51 PM 10/13/2005, you wrote: >>Bill and Nancy: >>The parents of your William Floyd Pace was James McClung Pace and Susanna >>Elizabeth Hawkins. >>James was b. 4/16/1851 in Edmonson Co, KY and died 3/21/1926 in Kansas. >>They married 11/22/1877 in Edmonson Co.
