    1. Re: [PACE-L] Silas Pace -Washington Co Mississippi Terr. Tax Roll - 1803
    2. Interesting. Another site (http://www.trackingyourroots.com/data/1805tax.htm) shows Silas Pace on the 1805 Washington County taxable property list, worth $38. A Silas Pace of Washington County (and a John Pace, and a long list of other names) signed a petition in 1809. http://nicholsb.tripod.com/washcopet1809.html. Presumably the John Pace who signed the petition in 1809 is the same one who appears on the 1810 tax rolls for Washington County. Sophronia Pace, daughter of Silas Pace, married Andrew M. Harris on 19 June 1839 in Choctaw County, AL (formed from Washington County). Gillum Pace married Elizabeth Bennett on 8 Jan 1835. (http://www.rootsweb.com/~alccgs/agwed.PDF) I'm descended from Silas Pace who m. Elizabeth Foreman, and who is presumed to be the son of the Silas who m. Mary Newsome. I would be interested to know how this Washington County Silas fits into the picture. Ellen
