    1. Silas Pace -- locations
    2. I thought that Silas Pace moved from NC to SC in 1758 or thereabouts, and after that they moved back and forth across the SC/GA line. I think this is from "The Pace Family 1607-1750". "Silas Pace moved his family from North Carolina to South Carolina about 1758, later moved with Silas' father, Richard Pace, to an area about 13 miles NE of present day Augusta, Ga. In 1761 they moved back to South Carolina at the outbreak of the Cherokee War. They stayed in South Carolina for 2 years then moved again to the Savannah River, 25 miles from Augusta. " If correct, it seems to confirm that Silas's son John probably wasn't born in NC. There's some commentary on Silas's movements during this period in the Avant book. Unfortunately my copy was lost while moving house so I can't refer to it at the moment. Ellen
