William Hullum Pace, died June 20, 1881, "after a short painful illness in his 64th year of his life" as in his obituary in the Richmond Times Dispatch states. --John Hartwell Pace, son of William and Ana Ann, ( Ada Ann Williamson, of Dinwiddiie County Dec. 22, 1846)was born in Fluvanna County Va. His parents had been married 13 years when he was born. William Hullum was listed in the Richmond City Directory in 1859 as living at 702 Pine Street in 1869 on Maiden Lane, by 1871 on 5th. and Hull Streets, in 1875 on 10th near Semms, and in 1881 on 11th and Railroad. John Hartwell Pace was a fish dealer. He was listed as a huckster in the City Directory in 1881 as living at 34 Maiden Lane. On May 09, 1883, John Hartwell married his next door neighbor Margaret Ann Miller. She was the daghter of George Miller of 700 Pine St. a blacksmith in 1859 who by 1897 was listed as a dairyman, at the same address.-- In 1870 William Hullum married a second time. --John Hartwell wa 11 years when his father married Elizabeth T. Miller Robinson. --It is possible that she and Johns wife were related. On Oct 06, 1886 John and Margaret first child was born George Hullum Pace. John Hartwell Pace died of influenza on March 04, 1939, He died at the residence of his Daughter Mrs. David A. Worsham, his wife Margaret had died 6 mo's earlier, June 23, 1938. They are buried at Oakwood Cemetery in Richmond Va. Their son was George Hullum Pacemarried Florence Beatrice Brauer,. Oct. 09, 1907.George Hullum Pace worked as a plumber with the City of Richmond, in the Dept. of Utilities. His only child was George Alvin Pace who was born in August 1910., attended John Marshall High School in class of 1927. attended Virginia Military Institute, married Beverley Randolph Harrison Webster of Amherst, Va. Their children George Frederick Pace, born Oct. 7th.1932 and Beverly Randoph Pace, born May 20th 1937. William Hullum Pace was born in Fluvannia Co. Va., his parents were Talton (Tarlton-Tarleten) and Jenny Pace.In the Fluvannia Co. Census of 1820 Tarton Pace is head of household and the father of five boys an one girl. Jack Pace/ Wmsburg, Va.
