Gordon Pace posted a line of descendants for a Nicholas Pleasant Pace who was born later, in 1814 Pittsylvania Co., VA (of the John of Middlesex line). (Obviously not the same Nicholas Pace who was deceased by 1788.) Search Pace Genforum under this name and you should find the info from Gordon. Also, there was a Captain Nicholas "Nick" Pace who served in the Civil War in a unit from Wayne Co., Mississippi and was cited for bravery. See this web site for more details: http://www.gwest.org/Co_A_list.htm I only mention these others because the name "Nicholas" seems to occur fairly infrequently amongst the Paces so maybe there are connections. - Joyce -----Original Message----- From: darlene [mailto:darlene@adweb.net] Sent: Tuesday, March 21, 2006 11:59 AM To: PACE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [PACE-L] Nicolas Pace Scotch Irish Settlement in Va Here is a Nicolas Pace noted as desceased August 20 1788 in a Scotch Irish Settlement in Augusta Co Va...Vol 1 Augusta Co Va Court Records Page 254 ... This Nickolas Pleasant Pace was the youngest son of my ancestor Francis Pace 1764-1842, b. Goochland Co. moved to Pittsylvania Co. Francis was the great grandson of John of Middlesex. Nickolas's older brothers (including my gg grandfather James Blair Pace) moved to Missouri, leaving him to inherit the plantation in Pittsylvania. Then some of his sons fought in the Civil War, liked the Dallas, TX area, and moved there. They are buried in the cemetery in Garland, Dallas County, TX. I have more details.
