Thanks! That confirms what I'd thought, since the name Newsome/"Nusom" reappears in the family in later generations. Can you tell me the source of your info, please? BTW marriage info for Joseph is inaccurate: Mrs. Henry MAGEE m. Joseph PACE, 20 Dec 1821 It contains transcription errors which have been perpetuated in various forms over the years. I have seen the original marriage ledger in Shelby Co, KY and can understand how the mistakes were made. There is an errant pen stroke at the end of "Ann", which has led to the mis-interpretation. The actual entry says that Joseph Pace and "Miss Ann Magee" were married on the above date; she was not "Mrs. Henry" Magee. The ledger data is borne out by family records - including a photo of an elderly woman labeled "Ann Magee Pace". The couple were my ggg grandparents. Ann was the daughter of Humphrey Magee, who appears on the Kentucky census in Madison Co. in 1810 and Shelby Co. in 1820. Perhaps I should send this to the entire list too..
