Darlene, 1850 Lawrence Co. TN census: You are correct in that Thomas Pace died about 1846. Mary was his widow. She lived until approx. 1885 (last time she paid taxes and shortly after Albert and family moved from AR to live on family land in Lawrence Co. TN) There isn't an extant marriage record in Benton Co. Courthouse for marriages before the civil war, except for a few that were in the 1860 book. The old book was destroyed or lost during the war, I understand. So, there's not a record for James Dean and Hannah Belieu except the family letter he wrote telling when/where he married her and when she died. James Dean Pace's second wife was Sina Caroline Ford. Her first husband was James Israel, and he was killed during the Civil War. William T. probably was transposed by the census taker or the transcriber of the typed version as a P. And Robert P. was not not miswritten the original census, if memory serves me from seeing the microfilm, but by the transcriber. Gale Pace Judkins, gggrandaughter of J.D.
