Lois: On 8/11/2008 you reported about a Walker Floyd Payne of El Paso, who, per his passport application, was a son of David Hamilton Payne b. in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. You said that "research shows that he was a son of Eliza Ann Pace and David Hamilton Pace who were m. in Petersburg City, VA on Feb 19, 1845." I don't understand how a David Hamilton Payne could be a son of a David Hamilton Pace - why would there be a change in the surname. My record shows that David Hamilton Payne m. Ann Elizabeth Pace on 2/18/1845 in Dinwiddie, Co, VA. She was a daughter of James Pace and Ann Leigh Phillips. My only record of their children was Jesse Bignal Pace but I have also added Walker Floyd Pace as another child. You also mentioned a Joseph Farrar Pace. I have three Joseph Farrar Paces in my database, but none of them seem to be related to David Hamilton Pace or Payne. The earliest one is Joseph Farrar Pace b. 1859 m. Willie in 1884 in VA. He was a son of William A. Pace b. 1831 VA and Maria Farrar. The other two Joseph Farrar Paces were his descendants. Gordon W.
