Yes, There's a Rootsweb mailing list for Melungeon heritage, I had searched the archives, several years ago, for PACE and found some. Also, mentioned was the heritage and possible origin to Balkan nations of southern Europe which could include Malta, a former British Colony and protectorate, where an uncle of mine was stationed, the H.M.S.London being the last British warship to leave Valetta. The British Merchant Marine had/has many Maltese sailors serving on their ships, throughout the worlds shipping lanes, and many Maltese had the PACE surname. There are many Maltese communities here in Canada. I've worked with descendents. No doubt, some from Michigan/Ontario are with us on this mailing list. I've been in touch with some.
