Rebecca; I could not get on the DNA results page tonight although I tried repeatily. I guess it is still down, huh? Have you heard when they are going to fix this for us or are they? --- On Fri, 9/26/08, Rebecca Christensen <[email protected]> wrote: From: Rebecca Christensen <[email protected]> Subject: [PACE] Pace DNA results To: [email protected] Date: Friday, September 26, 2008, 4:34 PM There appears to be some confusion about the Pace DNA result pages. Someone contacted Family Tree DNA and indicated they were told they had to pay to view the Pace DNA results. That is not correct. The Pace DNA project results are available free of charge on the Pace Society website. Unfortunately, the server crashed about a week ago that houses the Pace Society website along with the Pace DNA project results pages. So, for the short term, the results pages are not available to the public. (Actual participants can still view their results on the Family Tree DNA webpages by logging into their accounts with Family Tree DNA.) Hopefully, the new server will be up and running very soon. Please be patient. When the website is up and running again, the Pace DNA results will be available at www.PaceSociety.org Rebecca Christensen ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
Friday's e-mail is the last status e-mail I have received. Yes, there are plans to replace the server and to load the backups onto the new server. Hopefully it will be completed soon. Rebecca Christensen >From Val's e-mail on Friday: -------------- The servers are still down. Unfortunately, when the power came back up after the outage, it fried the servers. We will have them up and running on Sunday and probably up-datable then, but I will have to send new instructions to Roy, Gord & Rebecca on how to up-date the new servers. Sorry for any inconvenience. The damage was far more extensive than we first thought. The charts are updated on my computer and ready to upload as soon as the server is up.
