    1. Re: [PACE] Drury Pace , son of Drury Pace of Georgia listed in " Passports of Southeastern Pioneers 1770-1823" by Dorothy William Potter

    3. There was a Drury Pace who died by May 1801 (probate of will recorded, Richmond Co, GA). The will gave his son Drury land which had been patented by Richard Pace in SC in 1762. So that is one father-and-son pair. However, the "old Mr Drury Pace" mentioned in the passport application seems to have been still living at the time of the application, so he was not the one who died in 1801. So perhaps "old Mr Drury Pace" was the son, the one who was mentioned in the 1801 will. IF that is correct, then that would make the young Drury Pace (the applicant) the grandson of the Richard Pace who was granted the land in 1762. The Richard Pace who was granted the land is believed to have been the son of Richard and Rebecca Pace of NC. Although there is no proof (as far as I know), there is a fairly persuasive accumulation of circumstantial evidence, mainly in the names of associates and spouses. Several descendants of this Richard Pace have participated in the DNA study, with results falling into the 3a group. Question: might the Drury Pace who was apparently heading westward in 1810, be the same person as the Drury Pace who appears on the 1820 census in Hickman Co., TN? I know that the Hickman Co. Drury Pace is thought to have been a son of William Pace and Ruth Lambert but am just wondering.
