Response from Julie Pace Lomax, 1/29/2009 Terri: Grandpa Eli Whitney Pace’s Dad’s name was Perkins Robinson Pace. Grandpa Eli was his only child. Julie My response to these people was as follows: Judging from the above information, it is likely that Eli Whitney (or Whitten) Pace was born about 1900, probably in Wisconsin. I believe it is almost certain that he was a son of Perkins R. Pace who married Isabella Woodin on 5/23/1875. Perkins was a son of John R. Pace b. 5/22/1824 in KY and died after 1900 probably in Green Co, WI. He married Rhoda Long on 11/7/1844 in Muscatine, IA. Their other children were: John Lambert Pace, George B. Pace and Charles B. Pace. What convinces me of this ancestry is that Perkins is a unique given name among Paces and there were very few, in any, other Paces in Wisconsin at that time. The ancestry of Perkins Pace is well known back to John Pace of Middlesex, VA, ca 1620 and his father, Joseph Pace, of Shropshire England, late 1500’s.
