    1. [PACE] William/George Pace & Howell Halifax County NC additions and corrections
    2. Have some additions and corrections to some posts: To correct the following statement: the post read: Samuel Pitman and John Bradford both witnessed the will of George Pace Halifax 1773, and Samuel Pitman also witnessed the will of Thomas Howell, who, regardless of whether he was the father of George Pace's wife, might well have been related to Lydia (Howell) Cotton whose will was witnessed by Solomon Pace. correction: The George Pace Will dated 26 January 1773 Halifax County was witnessed by J. L. or S. Read, Wm (his x mark) Hux and Eliza (her x mark) Chappell comment: The Thomas Howell Will dated 10 Feb 1794, probated Feb 1796, was witnessed by John Pitman, Matthew Howell, Samuel Pitman Matthew Howell should be someone other than the son of Thomas, so probably another Matthew. Both of the above list of witnesses are from the will copies I have in my possession. reference not included in my post: The deed William Pace (probable son of Patience) witnessed in Halifax County is dated 3 Feb 1794 and is Thomas Howell of Halifax Co. to Matthew Howell. 15 pounds Virginia, 1 negro boy Isham. Witnessed by Wm Whitehead Jr.., John Pitman, William Pace. Registered Feb Court 1795 Halifax County NC DB 17:756 additional comment: post read: But also, at least one online abstract of Thomas Howell's will calls her "Patience Pearce", not "Patience Pace". correction: The surname of Patience in Thomas Howell's will is no longer than 4 letters. Pace, Pase, Pau, Pare, Paer, unlikely Pair because the blow up shows no dot for the i. Shirley Pace Graham **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps! 3. I have a wonderful booklet prepared for the Howell Family Reunion on March 14,1981 at the Sheraton Inn, Salem, Va It was sent to me by a Mr.Frank Hannah in 2006 in response to some of my Pace postings. The Cover has a picture of his grandparents,Abraham Thomas Howell 1855-1933 and Willie Minor Pace Howell 1858-1932 Inside are wonderful pictures on many of his Howell relatives and their various homes and gatherings. I wonder if they are connected to the Howells mentioned in your post. At the time Mr. Hannah contacted he was the owner of a Printing Company in Hampton, Virginia. At the time I was doing this research I received a message from someone as follows: a daughter of Elisha Pace and Martha Johnson ( also named Martha) married a Howell Chandler and both are buried in Friends Cemetery, Decatur county, Iowa. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Please note: My new email address is [email protected] Please remove [email protected] from your address books and files so that we can stay in touch! ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, February 09, 2009 12:36 AM Subject: [PACE] William/George Pace & Howell Halifax County NC additions andcorrections > Have some additions and corrections to some posts: > > To correct the following statement: > > the post read: > Samuel Pitman and John Bradford both witnessed the will of George Pace > Halifax 1773, and Samuel Pitman also witnessed the will of Thomas Howell, > who, > regardless of whether he was the father of George Pace's wife, might well > have > been related to Lydia (Howell) Cotton whose will was witnessed by > Solomon > Pace. > > correction: > The George Pace Will dated 26 January 1773 Halifax County was witnessed by > J.
