I am trying to help someone whose father was a Robert Pace. His parents were Harry Pace and Mildred Hinkle. Harry Pace died of T.B when her father was about 2 years old. Then Mildred met and married her step-grandfather,E.R.Johnson, and although he never adopted Robert Pace, her father took the last name of Johnson and used the name Pace as his middle name all his life. Later her parents used the name Pace as her middle name. She is not not well and unable to do much searching, so I have been trying to help her. She says Harry was the son of a Samuel Pace and Laura Jane .That he had a sister, Ethel Pace, who married a Lewis N. Leaton. She believes her Harry has a connection to Henrietta Ann McQuary born in Va and married to John Wilson Pace. Their son, Martin Wilson Pace b. abt. 1853 in Va Died in Mo. married a Rose Ann Leaton Is there any connection between Rose Ann Leaton and Lewis N. Leaton 1881-1978, married Ethel Pace 1887-1978? They both died in Otterville, Cooper, Mo according to SSDI records. Missouri marriage records show that Lewis Leaton m. Ethel Pace in Pettis, Mo on October 4, 1903 I Hope there are some Pace-Leaton descendents in Missouri who can help this lady.
