Payne in approximately 1881 in Missouri she was b. abt. 1860 Cleveland, Ohio (d. before 19 Jan 1937 as he is listed as widowed on his death certificate). He was a Retired Engineer who had worked for MoP.RR. (Missouri Pacific RR) (Death Certificate of Samuel E. Pace). The 1900 census of Sedalia Ward 3, Pettis county, Missouri 7B Enumeration District 112 shows that Samuel is 38 years old, and that his father was born in Missouri and mother in Virginia. SAMUEL appears to be son of: John W. Pace born abt. 1825 Virginia m. Henrietta McQurry [alt: McQuillin/McQuary] b. abt. 1820 Virginia (Death Certificate of Samuel E. Pace). He is listed in the 1850 Nelson County, Virginia Census at page 149. Goochland is a parent county to Nelson. Died suddenly while operating a locomotive going through Gasconade County, Missouri. Wife’s name Marie. Buried in Sedalia Cemetery, Sedalia, Missouri (Death Certificate of Lee Samuel Pace). 9.
