    3. Hi Gordon, Still not quite correct (though not surprising because I know this is confusing) James (b: 1751) wasn't the famous fur trader. He was the uncle of the fur trader. James the fur trader was the son of Samuel Kipp (b: 1753), younger brother of James (b: 1751). James the fur trader was named after his uncle. John Kipp (father of Jesse, and grandfather of Darwin who married Hannah Pace), was the son of James (b: 1751) and a first cousin of James the fur trader. Scott --- On Tue, 11/3/09, Gordon W.
