Hi Gordon, Still not quite correct (though not surprising because I know this is confusing) James (b: 1751) wasn't the famous fur trader. He was the uncle of the fur trader. James the fur trader was the son of Samuel Kipp (b: 1753), younger brother of James (b: 1751). James the fur trader was named after his uncle.
