    3. Wow, kind of stumbled on this and was looking to help/get info. My name is Matthew Pace, and I am trying to get a family tree if there is one out there. I can also fill in some of it if there is a missing piece. My Father was Thomas Pace (1950-2000), his father was Troy Pace (?-1986?) he was married to Marie. I have 2 boys. Trying to find out more if you can help that would be great. If I can fill in some info that would be no problem. Thanks Matt

    3. Matt, We would all like to be helpful but we will need more information. A quick look did not turn up any obvious choices. What about full names; more birth and death detail. What state or states? The county of the state would be very helpful. Also, the subject of your email is "Ransom Pace". How is he connected to your father and grandfather? 3. Matt, More info always helps. The Pace list and the Pace Society of America are always willing to help but it's tough if there are only a couple of generations to go on. Can you go any further back? You always need to begin by asking questions of family and relatives then start checking census and other records. Would you consider joining the Pace DNA study? This cannot give you a specific lineage but can tell you which of the general Pace lines that you wouldfit in. Information on the DNA study is at http://www.pacesociety.org/DNA/ It is not necessary to be a member of the Pace Society of America, but membership gets you a quarterly bulletin with lots of info and some great contacts to help. http://www.pacesociety.org for info. 3. Matt, As I mentioned a few weeks ago, finding the obit for Troy in Penn (if it is the same Troy and I believe it might be) and / or the Obit for Leo Arnold Pace (son of Ransom Taylor Pace) who died in Greenville SC in 1962 would be very beneficial to you. The only problem I have with Leo Arnold Pace is that Troy is not listed with him in the 1930 census when Troy would have been about 5 years old. Could Troy have been adopted??? Leo Arnold Pace had a daughter born about 2 years before Troy was born. Her name was Myrtle Pace Styles Hawkins. In her Obit she mentions her deceased brother Troy Pace. The obit follows Ricky Pace Inman, SC Myrtle Styles Hawkins Travelers Rest Myrtle Pace Styles Hawkins, 81, of 710 Langley Road, died Tuesday evening, Sept. 21, 2004, at her home. Born in Saluda, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Leo Arnold and Cora Waters Pace. Mrs. Hawkins was owner-operator of Myrtle's Beauty Shop. She was a member of Locust Hill Baptist Church, where she was a member of the T.E.L. Sunday School Class. Surviving are two sons, James C. Styles and wife, Sandra, of Travelers Rest and Gary L. Styles and wife, Connie, of Piedmont; five grandchildren, Gayla Styles, Misti Turner, Jed Styles and wife, Jennifer, Brad Styles, and Keri Brooks and husband, Charley; two great-grandchildren, Sydney Brooks and Jay Styles; three sisters, Lydia Lynn, Hazel Carlton and Martha Ann Cartee, all of Taylors; a brother, Ansel Pace, of Travelers Rest; and caregiver, Sally Odom. She was predeceased by her husbands, Claude M. Styles and John H. "Jay" Hawkins; three sisters, Elsie Pittman, Lora Howell and Alma Lynn; and three brothers, France Pace, Troy Pace and Carl Pace. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Locust Hill Baptist Church, with burial to follow at the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Hospice, 414 Pettigru St., Greenville, SC 29601. The family will be at the home. Psalms 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints." The Howze Mortuary, Travelers Rest, is in charge of arrangements. 3. Just found that Troy Pace who died in New Jersy in 1986 was mentioned in the Greenville, SC newpaper. Troy Lee Pace Obit Greenville News on Sep 28, 1986, pg 6c It did not list a death city or age. This Obit would probably give you a lot of information on Troy also Matt.
