The book is entitled" Love and War" and is basically a collection of letters written by Merit Branch Thurman to his Future wife, Jane Rosser Humphrey, who lived at Union Mills in Fluvanna County,Va during the Civil War. One letter mentions that he was visited in camp By a Ben Pace, Jim Harlow and Walker Tyler. I would think the letter was written in 1862. Would anyone know who this Ben Pace was? This is a great book if anyone is interested in the war and Virginia Soldiers.
