Carnahan took office. Matt Blout was the Secretary of State prior to Ms. Carnahan and the site was up during his time in office. I do not know whose idea the site was but elected officals taking credit for something that was not their idea is something that has become all to common in our world. Ms. Carnahan is now running against Roy Blout (Matt's father) for US Senate. I have no idea what either one of them believe is the saluations to our problems are but we have real problems. I do not know if our problems are bigger then they have ever been or just about the same. Has the end of the world always seemed to be just around the corner? The great thing about Genealogy is we get to study the history of those who came before us. I do want to make one political statement. Most of you know I ran for Congress twice in 1996 and 1998. I got beat 70-30. When I go to different political events now, I always ask one question to whoever is running for County Clerk in whatever county I am in. I ask who was your great great Grandfather. This is because her name appears on it as current Secretary of State. I have not seen any statement by Ms. Carnahan taking credit for originating the site.
