I would appreciate any comments concerning Duncan A. Pace that married Tirzah Ann Banks daughter of Jordan Banks in Washington County Arkansas 6 Sept 1866. I would like to place him with his parents if possible. He could be a descendant of William Pace married Sisley Walker in NC and died in Montgomery County TN 1845. He could belong elsewhere. I have given below some notes on the Duncan A. Pace family. Shirley Pace Graham Washington County is the neighboring county south of Benton County Arkansas. Duncan's oldest child is named Alsy/Aulsey. If this Duncan A. Pace does belong with the descendants of William and Sisley, I have 2 candidates: 1. Gideon G. Pace (b. 2 Sep 1814) son of Henning Pace. This Gideon could have a wife before Nancy Dickinson, possibly a Woods or Woods related girl because he lived near this group in Arkansas. Woods names were on his performance bond when he became Sheriff the first time, but different people were listed his 2nd term as Sheriff. This Gideon G. Pace was also associated with Woods in Haywood County TN. 2. Alsy Pace born about 1803-4 son of Henning Pace. Alsy/Alsey/Aulsey Pace and Mary Johnson were married in Madison County TN 27 Jun 1824. Henning and his sons William and Alsey begin appearing in Madison County TN court records 1822. If this Duncan A. Pace belongs with the Alsy Pace 1803-4, Duncan A. would have to be the child Alexander listed in the Lawrence County MO census of 1850, then he would have to leave the rest of his family in Missouri and move to North West Arkansas, then on to Texas. Mary Johnson Pace's father was named Duncan Johnson and she had a brother Alexander. Mary Amnie Susannah Jane Pace b. 9 Feb 1872 Fayetteville AR d. 28 Dec 1959 married Thomas James Cobb. [Texas Certificate of Death lists Amnie Mary Cobb parents Duncan J. Pace and Turzia Ann Banks; she was born 9 Feb 1872 Arkansas, died Lubbock, Lubbock, Texas 28 Dec 1959.] 3. Fred Pace married Lillie [Texas Certificate of Death---Fred John Pace b. 22 Dec 1875 Fayetteville AR d. Memphis, Hall County TX 15 Oct 1953 parents Duncan A. Pace b. AR and Tirsey Banks b. AR.] 4. William Samuel Pace married Bobbie [Texas Certificate of Death----William Samuel Wright Pace born 10 Mar 1877 Fayetteville Arkansas; died Memphis, Hall County TX 10 Mar 1877. Home was Estelline.
