The Pace Society web site http://www.pacesociety.org/ has two REUNION pages added with several pictures of participants: 2000-Williamsburg 2001-Salt Lake City The links to the new REUNION pages are near the top of the main page. If anyone has pictures of the Reunions at Dallas, Jackson, Galveston and would like to send me and also a few words about the reunions, I could make up some more Reunion pages to add to the site. Thanks, GTPace

Irene Wainwright, Asst. Archivist has announced that this facility was spared. Some false info had said that it was damaged but one of their vans was looted and another, perhaps, stolen. The main building is in great shape. The Technology Center had windows blown out but the damage was confined to one room. The Public Library System was hit hard, she said, with about half of their 11 branches under water. This is good news and was passed on to me by a friend in the GA Professional Genealogists. The previous concern noted about genealogical records from the states that were hit by the storm could be addressed by attempting to reach the Archives of each state, in their capitol cities. It would seem that any county record microfilm might be replaced by ordering from the LDS in Salt Lake. Perhaps, as we find out more, people will want to donate replacement materials for those that were lost. Ms. Wainwright states that the buildings that are under water will be replaced. Kathy Best

Ref: "Records of the Virginia Company," at http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/collections/jefferson_papers/vc03.html There is posting on the web by the Library of Congress of the collected works in Pres. Thomas Jeffersons personal library. Among the documents is a copy of the Records of the Virginia Company. Included in this volume is the petition of Richard Pace of Jamestown to Sir Francis Wyatt and members of the Council requesting re-establishment of his property, i.e., Paces Paines, after the Indian Massacre. The reader is directed to http://lcweb2.loc.gov/ammem/collections/jefferson_papers/vc03.html There you may find your way to this document. You can save the document as a photo with a .gif extension. I have typed out a copy of the Pace paper. However, it is not possible to transmit the unique typeset, involving superscript letters which occur in some of the abbreviations. Presumably, it is important to note, these are the words of Richard Pace of Jamestown. p. 682 CCLX Richard Pace Petition to the Governor and Council in Virginia Between October 1622, and January, 1622/3. Good morning. I am connected to the Paces through my maternal grandmother. We come through Presley Page Pace, whose parents were Willis PACE and Polly GILL. I have reached a dead end with Willis PACE. I read somewhere (maybe on a rootsweb discussion board) that Willis PACE was born in 1790, and orphanned by 1795, adopted by Thomas BUNCH. Then Thomas BUNCH died, and his brother, David BUNCH assumed the adoption. Thomas and David BUNCH had a sister, Anne BUNCH PACE, and some were speculating it was Willis PACE's mother or grandmother. Does anyone have any evidence to prove this? Then, we tie in with the PACEs again through Polly GILL. Her father was Jesse GILL and mother was Tabitha PACE. Tabitha's father was Buckner PACE. Has anyone found any link between Buckner PACE and Willis PACE? Many thanks. Amanda Boyette __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Have you been confused about your family's DNA results not matching other families' who you have been told are in you line? Do you wonder which Pace family you are descended from? Why not join the Pace Society, access the new database and the new DNA lineage chart and maybe some of your questions will be answered. The new DNA/lineage chart has all the DNA results of Group 3 lined up in lineages provided in early Pace bulletins and the colors match (unlike the first chart). A wealth of information is available through the new database with more being added daily. John Pace
Several people have asked me where the knife was found. Greg Ellison, the owner, lives in Springfield, Missouri, and he said he bought it from a dealer. I don't know if the dealer was in Springfield or not, but there is probably no info on where it was found. I will email Greg and ask where he bought it. William Moment Pace and Dicy had many children so there must be plenty of descendents out there somewhere.

----- Original Message ----- From: Lois Long Carey To: PACE-L@rootseb.com Sent: Wednesday, August 24, 2005 12:44 PM Subject: Alabama Paces Just wanted to remind everyone that I am still wondering about the Aunt Fannie Cosby who was living with my family in 1900 and said she was born in Alabama. I was always told that she was part Cherokee. She may have been connected to a Edwin Cosby who witnessed the application of my grgrandmother Mary A. Herndon Robinson for a pension based on the service on my grgrandfather David C. Robinson who was born in 1789 and served in the war of 1812' The application was also witnessed by my paternal grgrandfather John R.Pace b. 1809 who was the father of John Walker Pace who married Rebecca Ann Robinson, dau. of David C. Robinson Just thought maybe some Alabama Paces might be able to shed some light on the Fanny Cosby who may have been a Pace before her marriage. I think she was born abt. 1823.( from memory) Any Frances Paces born in Alabama abt. that time?
