    3. Peggy and Glen: I have information on the subject. My ancestor was Elizabeth F. PACE, (1801 SC - 1876 Lamar Co, TX), who was the daughter of John and Zepporah (KIRBY) PACE and sister of Jesse Kirby Harris PACE. I have a photocopy of the PACE family Bible record and a portrait of David Wright PACE and family. Do you know of a male PACE from this line who would be willing to participate in DNA testing? It would help substantiate our descent from Richard PACE of Jamestown if the results matched other descendants of Richard. Good luck in your research. Nancy Webb Wood

    3. David Wright Pace was my gg-grandfather. His paternal grandparents were John Pace Jr. (b 5 Dec 1775, VA, d 9 Jan 1830, Blount Co, AL) and Zipporah Kirby (b 15 Feb 1778, Henry Co, VA, d 4 Aug 1838, Blount Co, AL). David's son, Nathan Benjamin "Boss" Pace (b 22 Dec. 1872, Gray Bill, Collin Co, TX, d 2 Jan 1941, Floydada, Floyd Co, TX) was married to Cora Mae McCune (b 11 Jan 1877, Valley View, Cooke Co, TX, d 2 Sept 1963, Floyd Co, TX). One of Boss Pace's daughters, Winnie Rebecca Pace (b 19 Aug 1904, d 27 Jan 1939, Floyd Co, TX), married Aden Louis Glenn (b 5 May 1901, Rockwell Co, TX, d 19 Mar 1991). These were the parents of my mother, Nina Ruth Glenn (b 14 Jan 1926, Floyd Co, TX, d 29 Nov 2004, Lubbock, Lubbock Co, TX). My mother, by the way, was born in the home of her grandfather, Nathen Benjamin Pace. The other children of Boss Pace were Willie Pace (Winnie's twin sister), Cora Alice Pace (b 30 Aug 1902), Myra Faye Pace (b 8 March 1898), William Wright Pace (b 17 Nov 1893), and Benjamin Perry Pace (b 27 April 1895). I just received this email: >According to other information that I have not tried to verify, Edmund and Sarah would have been the grandfather of Albert, # 5 on my list. Albert's father was supposedly David W. Pace, whom I believe to have been the first in my line to settle in MS< Roy Johnson

    1. (1) Kit 26541 (2) Deep Clade tests
    2. Roy Johnson
    3. FTDNA is now offering Deep Clade haplogroup tests for group R1b at a cost of $79.00. I have not had time to fully absorb the meaning of deep clade tests, but I do not believe they would help with Pace genealogy. They seem to have more to do with where you are placed on the larger human family tree. Perhaps Rebecca or someone else can check this out and provide a better explanation. FTDNA's explanation is at http://www.familytreedna.com/(cod4gzvx45mzjqficbvasdqe)/deepclade.html and you can click to the Rib chart from that page. FTDNA has changed our R1b designations to R1b1. Again I'm not fully cognizant of what this implies, but the chart on the above page differentiates this designation from the rest. This includes most Paces except John of Middlesex descendents. Kit 26541, claiming descent from Edmund Pace/Sarah Walker, has submitted a lineage, as follows: 0. Donor 1 Father 2. Robert True Pace, born 8/20/11, died 7/15/69; married Essie Woodruff 3. Robert Vernon Pace, born 12/15/1883, died 10/31/71; married Arvie South 4. David Nathan Kosciusko Pace, born 10/11/1855, died 6/14/46; married Martha Martin 5. Albert Pace, born 6/16/1827, died 12/27/1905, married Eliza Jane Belue (2nd wife: Mary Jane Adams) #2 is buried in Alcorn Co., Miss.. Numbers 3,4, and 5 are buried in Tishomingo Co., Miss. I am not sure why the lineage does not go back to Edmund and Sarah, but that was the original information that I had. Roy Johnson
