    3. I belong to genealogybank.com and here is the article they have for this story: In Carbon County, PA, Sunday week, Anton Kloefel, who is a clerk in a New York bakery, shot and killed his wife at the residence of her parents. The couple were singing in the kitchen. The husband asked his wife to sing a certain song, and on her refusal seized a shotgun, placed the cap which had been removed, on the nipple, took aim at his wife and deliberately fired. The shot entered the left eye and caused almost instant death. Kloefel was arrested after he informed one of the neighbors of his crime. A crowd soon assembled and there were cries of "hang him" and "Serve him as Snyder, the Northampton County double murderer, was served", but the prisoner was safely lodged in the Mauch Chunk Jail. He offered to shoot himself if provided with a revolver. The murdered woman was 19 years old, and had been married but four months. -----Original Message----- From: pacarbon-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:pacarbon-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Judy Sent: Thursday, January 31, 2008 7:20 PM To: PACARBON-D@rootsweb.com Subject: [PACARBON] Interesting article Thought this might interest someone on the list. The couple were spending the holidays at the wife's home. The family were engaged in singing songs and hymns, Kloefel and his wife taking the principal part in the evening pastime. Kloefel requested his wife to sing a certain song, which she declined to do. He thereupon seized a shot-gun, took deliberate aim, and fired, the shot taking effect in the left eye, penetrating the brain and causing instant death. Mrs. Kloefel would have been 19 years old on Monday last. The murderer is a clerk in a bakery on Broadway, New York City. He is about six feet tall, and quite good looking. The couple had been married about four months. ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to PACARBON-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message __________ NOD32 2840 (20080131) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com
