Meendsen, who served as pastor of the Towamensing church and others, online. The link has disappeared. However, some of his records are available at the Pennsylvania German Society Cultural Heritage Center in Kutztown (info at http://www.kutztown.edu/community/pgchc/index1.htm). Click on Library, then Collections, then Pastoral Records to see a list of their holdings. Looks like the Meendsen records they have only cover the period 1809-1831. Good luck! Can I suggest that you call the Lehigh County Historical Society at Allentown, they should have a copy of those records. If not I am sure they can direct you to other options. If I recall correctly though they are at LCHS. Long ago I found a marriage record in a folder box for an ancestral relation who married about 1810 in a file under the title of "Lehi-Carbon Records, St. John's Union Church, Towamensing 1782 - 1862, 97.4826 chu. listed under section 2, Rev. Mendssen's marriages. Location of the marriage was given at Pennstown, which I believe is an old name for a community located east of Andreas, on rt. 895 west of Bowmanstown. This location is likely for a marriage which was done for the congregation at Ben Salem Church. I found an antique map of that location which labled the section mentioned above as Pennstown. Ben Salem Church is about 1/4 mile NW of Pennstown, if I remember correctly the establishment date of Ben Salem Church is about 1795. Since ministers covered large areas on circuit the records listed as St. John's Union may have actually been done elsewhere, but these are usually listed with the location name in Meendsen's records.
