weisenberg twp. john philip herber, youngest son of jacob herber, was born sept. 7, 1770. he married and left a number of children, viz' john, jacob, heinrich, john, peter, daniel, catharine kraseley, and molly ebert. keefer, joseph, who is of german descent, s/o elias keefer, a native of northampton co., and a soldier of the war of 1812. the latte married lydia solt, and they had 5 children, elizabeth, w/o louise guttendake, george, john, joseph and samuel. joseph was born 9 april, 1844 in allen twp., northampton. member of the 16th cav. he married 1866 to mary kleckner, d/o william of lehigh co., whose children are john henry, joseph elias, and samuel lewis. mr. and mrs. keefer have also adopted a son alfred lewis..
