    3. Hi, this will drive you crazy, but I'm going to put every thing I can find, and I hope you can sort it out. Horn will take you into Monroe County. Northampton County Jones, Oliver K. of Freemansburg, was born Nov. 28, 1838, s/o Joseph B. and Eliza (Keck) Jones, the latter born in Northampton the former in Lehigh. John Jones, the great-grandfather, was said to have been a native of Wales, came to America as a young man. Oliver K., married Feb. 3, 1863, Clara Oberly, d/o John S., and Catharine (Shimer) Oberly. They were from Northampton County. Children; Harry O., and Charles, both of whom were employed in the War Department of the U.S. Government at Bethlehem under Capt. McNutt. Jones, Joseph E., of Bethlehem township, was born in Northampton County, June 3, 1826, s/o Joseph and Mary (Butz) Jones, also native of Northampton. Griffith Jones, the great-grandfather, was a native of Wales, and was one of the first settlers of Bethlehem township and came to this county in 1750. Joseph E., married Anna E. Messinger, and they had two children, Isabella C. and Flora A. Bethlehem Shaw, Joseph, one of the English members, who was said to have studied for the church but was obliged by ill-health to abandon it. He served as a teacher first among the indians, and then at Walpack and Dansbury, in the Minisinks among the white settlers. There is first wife, Mary Jones, of Phila., died. Buried at Bethlehem Jones, John, 1714-81, blacksmith from Skippack, moved to Bethlehem in 1749, He left 5 sons and fifteen grandchildren. Jones, Rebecca, 1729-59, from Norfolk, Va. Lost her parents when yet a child, came with a family to NY, where she heard the Rev. Jacob Rogers preach. Jones, Joseph, 1755-1824, born on the Jones Farm near Bethlehem. In his 20th year he married Hannah Horn, and lived to see 27 grandchildren. In 1810 he married 2nd to the widow, Maria Nitschmann, nee Van Vleck. Jones, Margaret Pugh, nee Davis, 1784-1814, born in London, England. Jones, Maria, 1740-65, born at Elizabeth, NJ, joined the church in 1756. Lehigh County History Jones, Benjamin, native of Glamorganshire, South Wales, born Aug. 29, 1847. Came to America in 1866 locating to Catasauaqua. Moved to Northampton in 1900. He married first to Emma Kinsey. d/o Alonzo W. and Cecelia (Cabb) Kinsey. of Newport, England. They were the parents of 2 children; Joshua C., of Wilkes-Barre, and William Alonzo. Mrs.Jones died April 26, 1876. He married 2nd to the sister of his first wife (Elizabeth Kinsey), and they had one son, Edwin K. William Alonzo, married in1897 to Lucy Seyfried, d/o Lovine and Elizabeth (Freeby) Seyfried. Mrs. Jones died May 27, 1904. Children; Bessie S., Edith F., William A., and Miriam, who died in infancy. Mr. Jones married 2nd to Talitha Peters, only daughter of Lewis and E.emina (Peters) Peters, and they had Emma Peters Jones. Jones. Walter L. former alderman of Allentwon, native of Wales, was born March 4, 1840. Came to this county with his parents. In 1865 he married Mary C. Kline, d/o Charles and Caroline (Ludwig) Kline, and granddauther of Benjamin Ludwig. Mr. and Mrs. Jones had 8 children, 5 of whom are deceased. Children; Guy R., Helen who married N. Guiley Finch. Walter Jones, father of Alderman Walter Jones, was born Oct. 1842,native of S. Wales, settled in Carbon County. He died age 85, buried in the Union cemetery, Allentown. (He was a noted singer). He married Mary Lewis, who died in 1878, aged 81. Children; 2 who died in infancy, a daughter, died in childhood, David, who was killed on the railroad in 1842, soon after coming to America, Edward, who died in Tamaqua, Sarah Ann, who married Hugh Griffith, of Allentown, she died in 1908 aged 75, John, of Minersville, William, and Walter L. Jones, John M., of Slatedale, Lehigh County, was born Sept. 7, 1851 at Waverly. In 1876 he married Ella Lewis, d/o John and Susanna (Walter) Lewis, of Caenavonshire, Wales. Children; Walter died as a child, Jennie, married G.R. William, and they had (Bessie), Llewellyn, married Emma Dorward., Salie, married D.R. Faust and they had (Heston), Gorden, married Ellen J. Remaly and they had (Claire), Harrison, died at 5, Morris and Edward. Ellis E. Jones son of Ellis, was born in 1823, came to this county at age 19. He died Nov.1890. He married to Anna Moses, d/o John and Elizabeth (Williams) Moses, of Caernorvnshire. Children; John M., Maria, died young, and Angelina, who married R.R. Jones, and they had (Dora, Mabel, Bertha, Frank, and Lizzie). Ellis Jones, the father of Ellis E., and they grandfather of John M., lived at Caernarvonshire. Among his chidlren were; Robert, John, Griffith and Ellis, the father of John M. Jones, John L., of Slatington, was born at Anglesea, in Wales, 1830. He married Ellen L. Jones, d/o Pierce Jones, of Festeurog, Merronethshire, North Wales, and they had 4 children, John H., Elizabeth, who married Rev. Tedivil Williams, of Shamokin, Pierce H., and Robert. Membersof the Welsh Congregational Church. John H. Jones, son of John L., was born in 1860, in 1889 he married Mary A. Easterday, d/o Stephen Easterday of Cherryville, and they had 5 children; Ralph, Ruth, Edward. Harold, and Irene. Pierce H. Jones, 2nd son of John L., was born at Slatington, March 25, 1868. John W. Jones, was born in Wales in 1849. He married Mary A. Williams, d/o Henry and Laura (Evans) Williams. Children; Catharine, married to Henry Andrews, William, John, Laura, married George Litzeberger, Mollie who married William H. Neff, Arthur of Phila., Hattie who maried John Cummings. Members of the Baptist Church. Mrs. Jones's parents were natives of Wales, and in emigrating to America, they landed at Boston, where she was born,and then they moved to Slatington. Jones, Elmer E., of Allentown, was born at Scranton, Sept. 14, 1868. In 1890 he married Mary Howells, d/o Lewis and Mary A. (Jones) Howell. Children; Blodwyn H., married William J. Fenstermacher, Irene H., married Thomas Edwars, Sarah H., married Archibald R. Miller, Ruth H., Jennie H., and Mary. Members of the Baptist church. Charles D. his father, was a native of Wales, moved to Scranton, he married Ruth Thomas, and they had 15 children, of whom the following lived to maturity, William S. of Phila., Henry C. of Wyoming, Elmer E., Charles I., of Wyoming,Mary I., married George B. Seidwell of Ashley. Jones, Daniel, D., his maternal grandfather __ Smith, was a native of Northampton County, with wife, moved to Phila. Mr. and Mrs. Smith were, in 1798, the victims yellow fever, leaving 2 infant daughters, who were adopted by friends. One of these was Sophia, who married Peter Jones, a seafaring man., their son Daniel (only suvivor of 4 children) was born April 1, 1827. He married in 1867 to S. Jenny Mott, d/o Elihah Mott, of Montrose, Sus. Co. Children; 3 died in childhood, Harry D., Freddy M., Hiram Belford. Horn, C.T. MD. a native of Carbon Co. Horn, Melchior, grandson o f Abram Horn, who was of German descent, resident of Phila., he was a Capt. in the Rev. He was also in the War of 1812.His 8 sons and 2 sons-in-law also served in the War of 1812. His son, Adam, was appointed postmaster of Easton. Mr. Horn moved to Phila., to Easton, he married Susan Hay, d/o Melchior Hay and had 8 sons and 2 daughters, of whom Melchior was born in 1783 at Easton, he married Isabelle Traill and had children, Sybilla, Robina, Robert T., John J., Isabella R., Melchior H.,, Enoch C., Philip H., Sarah and Maria L. He married a 2nd time to a Mrs. Stedinger, and had one son, William Penns. His son, Melchior H. was born April 9, 1822 at Easton. He married 13 Oct 1845 to Matilda L, Heller, d/o Jacob Heller. Children; William H., Edward T., Susan, wife of M.L. Dreisbach, Frank M., Harry Y., Isabella, and Charles R. War of 1812 Horn Abraham Jr. wife Eliza, no pension, srv. as Capt. PA Mil. BLW Joseph, SC-6860, srv. Capt. A. Horn, PA "Melchiat, wf Frederica M., WC-21006, srv. Capt A. Horn's 1st Rifles PA Regt as a Sgt. William, wf Sarah (Suplee) WC-12039, SC-9865, married 8 Jan 1845 in Montgomery County. Rev. Horn Abraham, S39718, PA Line, applied 30 March 1818 Northampton, PA and in 1820 he had moved to Phila., and was aged 60. Court 15 Aug 1794 Estate of Melchior Hay, died last Aug, William Township.
