I am now in search of Schaffer/Schafer or like spelling of any of my family of my father's side. I know that my g grandfather Alvin was born in Carbon cty and that his brother Robert David Schaffer was born in Stemlersville, but I cannot find anything but two census records with their names on it. I would like if anyone related or with info on this family could find anything about their parents. From the census it lists a Wm. Schafer and Sarah as mother and father and sons and daughters including my g grandfather Alvin F. and Robert D. however it seems their last name spelling was changed from Williams to Schaffer. Anyhelp is appreciated. My g grandfather Alvin Franklin Schaffer married Lizzie Strohl, the daughter of Edwin D and Lydia Ann (Serfass daughter of Nathaniel Serfass and Lydian Ann (Strohl). If you need any info to help me finding my Schaffer family side from the Carbon Country area let me know I would love help as I am at wit's end trying to find my family. I have the Serfass, Strohl Kunkle, etc in my side but need to fill in Schaffer/Schafer. Please help if you have any kind of info you think might hlep. thank you so much Lucy H.
