He died in 1875 leaving a son, Lafayette, and a daughter, who married Hon. Robert Klotz. Robert Klotz, came to Mauch Chunk in 1833. His father, Christian Klotz, made his home at the Landing Tavern as early as 1821. Robert Klotz was born in Mahoning about 3 years before his father came to the river to seek a livihood, and in the vicinity of a farm where his mother's father Robert McDaniel, had settled during the Rev.
