    3. Dauphin County Wagner, John R., was born in Londonderry township, June 10, 1833. The first of the Wagner family to come to Dauphin County was Frederick Wagner, grandfather to John R., who settled on the tract of land now owned by the Allwine estate. Frederick Wagner, was born Dec 14, 1758, and was one of the early settlers of Lancaster Co. Frederich was drated into service in the War of 1812 and marched from Londonderry to Baltimore. He married Anne Wrightmeyer, by whom he had children; Elizabeth, Anna, Margaret, Mary and John. He died in 1846 age 87. John Wagner, father, was born was in 1799. He married Catharine Rodfong, d/o Michael. Children; Caroline, died in 1863 age 14, Frederick married Leah Peters, d/o David, John, Annie married S.C. Swartz, s/o Christian, Mary married Davis Eshenower, of Lower Swatara township, Eliza married Jacob G. Gingerich of Londonderry, Sarah married David Roop of Middletown, Sarah, unmarried. John R. married March 28, 1865 to Katie Garrett, d/o John, of Lebanon,PA. Wagner, John Frederick, of Middleton, PA., was born in Londonderry township, Dauphin county, Oct 30, 1830, s/o John and Catharine (Rodfong) Wagner. In 1860 he married Leah Peters, d/o David Peter. Children; Abraham L., William, Charles a physician at Hanover, York, PA. Simon, Elizabeth wife of JOhn Klinger, Emma and Annie. Lancaster Co Wagner, George F. of Elizabethtown, was born in Newville, W. Dongal township, March 27, 1833. He was the son of Jacob and Susan (Keller) Wagner, both natives of Lancaster. The father was a shoemaker, died in 1855 age 44. His widow died in 1877, aged 71. Members of the Lutheran Church. After his death, Mrs. Wagner married 2nd to to Barhart McAlister. George F., was the only child of the 1st marriage. To the 2nd were born John, Catharien married William Bartells, Mary of Phila., Jacob, of Highspire. The paternal grandparents of George F. came from Germany. George F., married 3 times, in 1855 to Mollie Burns and they had children; (1) William H., married Ella Witmer and has one daughter. (2) John W., married Catharine M. Long and they had 6 children.(3)George W. (4) Lillie A., married and had 2 children. Mollie (Burns) was born in Mt. Joy twp. in 1832, died in 1863, she was the d/o William Burns of Lancaster. George F., married 2nd to Barbara Klugh. She died in 1882 aged 39. She was born in York County, d/o Frederick. George F. married 3rd to in Conoy twp. in Matilda Beerbauer, who was born in York Co, d/o Daniel, a native of Lancaster. Members of the Church of God. York County Wagner, Charles (MD) of Hanover, PA.,a native of Middletown, Dauphin Co., born Sept 1, 1867. s/o Frederick and Leah (Peters) Wagner. John Wagner, great-grandfather, was a native of Maryland. His son, also named John was born in Maryland. Members of the United Brethren Church. He and his wife had children. Frederick father of Charles, Anna, wife of Solomon Swartz. John, Sarah, wife of David Roop, Elizabeth, wife of Jacob Gingerich, Mary, wife of David Eshenour, Catharine and Caroline. Frederick Wagner, was born in Dauphin county,1830. he had children; Abraham L., John, William, Charles, Simon, Elizabeth, wife of John Klinger, Emma the wife of Edward Bierly and Anna, wife of Frank Douglas. Charles Wagner, married June 4, 1895 to Beulah, d/o Napoleon B. Carver. Children; Dorothy, deceased, Frederick C., and Charles Christopher. Lancaster Co Wagner, Samuel, of Paradis twp. Lancaster county. He was the s/o Christian and Christina (Bowers) Wagner, both born in Wurtenberg, Germany. Shortly after their marriage the migrated to America accompained by Christina's widowed father, Gottlieb Bowers. Christian Wagner and his wife were members of the Lutheran Church. Gottlieb Bowers was a member of the Old Mennonite Church. Christian lived to the age of 76, and his wife died at 56. Children; Samuel, Gabriel, and Martha who married Edward Kurtz. Samuel was born in Leacock twp., Aug 5, 1836. He married Sept 13, 1860 to Rachel Ruth, was born in Leacock, Aug 10, 1832, d/o Simpson and Ann (Becker) Ruth. Children; Mary Anne, who lived with her father until his death, Aug 25, 1902. Simpson, married Annie Martin and had children ( Mable, Florence, and Ruth). Emma the wife of Ed. J. Kautz, of Paradise and had children. (Samuel and Blanche). Members of the Reformed Church. Lebanon County Wagner, Philip (Rev) was born near Carisle, PA, Nov 28, 1800 and died Feb. 15. 1870. He was a ministe of the Evangelical Association, at New Berlin, Union Co.. His wife Catharine (Bordner) Wagner, was born April 9, 1799 and died Sept 8, 1870. Children; David A., Benjamin, Elizabeth, Eliza, William B., a minister of the M. E. Church at Seneca Falls, NY., and Charles B. Charles B. married in 1856 to Elizabeth Stine, of Milheim, d/o Isaac Stine, of East Hanover, Lebanon Co. Northumberland Co Wagner, Charles D. of Sunbury, was born Aug 24, 1864 in Little Mahanoy twp., and he was the great-grandson of Jacob Wagner, a native of Tulpehocken township, Berks Co. He married Anna Rentschler, a member of an old Berks Co family, and this couple on coming to Northumberland Co., they settled on a farm now owned by Daniel Reitz. On this farm, Mrs. Wagner is buried.. Jacob Wagner is buried at Little Mahanoy Church. Children; several of the older one were born in Berks Co., namely, Michael, Jacob, George, Samuel, Catharine, married Willian Baker, and moved to Michigan, Magdalena, married Frederick Latsha, and they lived at Swabian Creek, Rosina maried Adam Daniel of Jackson township, and Betzy married Jacob Reitz. and they lived in Red Bank. Of the sons, Michael married Susanna Holshue,and they lived and died at Lewisburg. Children; Adam, Daniel, Jesse, Leonard, Isaac, Polly, Hetttie and Betzy Jacob Wagner married Sallie Seiler, of Jackson township. Children; Salinda, Elias, Carolina, Harriet, Amanda, Emanuel and Stephen. About 1845 the moved to Illinois, making their journey by wagon, and there died. Several of the younger children were born in that state. George Wagner, married Betzy Seitz, of Swabian Creek, and they were buried at Little Mahanoy Church. Children; Samuel, Peter, John, David, Rosina and Bevvy/ Samuel Wagner, he married Catharine (Fester). Children; Henry died young, Levi, Durrell, lived in Fla., George of IL. Augustus, Isaac F., Moses, lived in Washington township, Julia, married Jacob Gass, Rebecca married Samuel Feese, Polly married Henry Derrick, Anna married Benjamin Zartman. Isaac F. was born Nov 21, 1843. He married Esther Derr, d/o William and Hannah (Reed) Derr. They had 15 children, Joseph D., William, Cassa Miah, wife of Levi Knouse, Samuel, Wilson D., Hannah J., wife of David Furman, Mary Ida., Edgar D., Charles I. Tama Cora, who is a sister in the Mary J. Drexel home of Phila. Stephen D., Francis D., IsaaI I. of Chester, PA Robert of Phila.,Esthe Gertrude, died at 18. Best Wishes, Geri
