Marriage __ Sheesly, they had 2 daughters and 4 sons. George Gilbert, father, born in Lebanon Co, Dec 31, 1813. He married 1st to Catharine Long and had 2 sons and 3 daughters. Alfred Gilbert, married Dec 24, 1872 to Lizzie, d/o John and Sarah Shaud. Bretz. George, married Emma L. Gilbert, d/o Jacob and Catherine, of Pottstown, Montgomery Co on June 6 1872. Children; Mary A., and Gilbert F. Dauphin Co., Althouse/Herbine Althouse, Reuben H., was born in Berks Co., Feb 3, 1845, s/o Benjamin and Rebecca (Herbine) Althouse, natives of Berks Co. Came to Dauphin Co. in the spring of 1845. Member of the Reformed Ch. He died April 16, 1861, his wife died 1880. Children; Reuben H., Ella, and George B., of Phila. Reuben H., married in 1866 to Frances Rudy, d/o Joseph of Harrisburg. Children; Frank, of Harrisburg, Carrie, Henry B., R. Edward, R.H., Frances, w/o George Swab, of Harrisburg, Joseph, Ella and Delanor. Ulrich, William H., was born in Lower Swatara township, June 7 1844, s/o Adam and Mary. He married 1869 to Kate E. Bowman of Lebanon Co., no children. Lesher, Jacob, grandfather, native of Dauphin Co. He married Christina Mertz. Children; John, Jacob, Sallie, w/o ___ Gebhard, Gideon, Polly, Daniel, Thomas, and Samuel. Gilbert, Frederick R., Dauphin Co., was born Nov 16, 1825, s/o John and Elizabeth (Rathron). His great=grandfather, Samuel Gilbert, was born in Germany, Aug 10, 1743, died April 8 1826. He came to America with 2 brothers in 1752. He married Catharine Saul, born Dec 11, 1757 died June 11 1806, d/o Nicholas. Herman, Harry, of Washington township, was born in Mifflin Co, Nov 7, 1833, s/o John and Rebecca (Heller) Herman. The father 1st married to Susan Heller, children, Harry and Mary. He married 2nd to Rebecca, d/o John Keener, widow of Michael Matter, and their children were, John, Rebecca, Thomas, Michael and Jacob. He married 3rd to Lavina Duebendorf, widow of Charles Matter, and their children were; Frances, Ann, Samuel, and Lavina. Painter, Ebenezer Greenough, was born in Sunbury, Sept 26, 1826, s/o Thomas and Susan (Israel) Painter, and grandson of John Painter, pioneer of Northumberland Co. His great-grandfather, with 2 brothers came to America before the Rev. The grandfather, John Painter was a soldier of the Rev.
