Potts, John S., of Salemville, was born Nov 8, 1857, s/o Daniel and Roseanne (Steinmetz). The progenitor of the Potts family in Westmoreland Co., was John Potts. His wife was Catharine Whitehead, and they had 12 children, 5 sons and 7 daughters. One of the sons, was Daniel. Daniel, son of John P., and Catharine, was born in 1822. In 1842 he married Rosanaa Steinmetz, d/o John Phillip. Children; Mary Anna, born 1844, w/o George W. Bierer; Margaret Jane born 1847; Alpheus D. 1849; William J. 1852; John P.; Rachel R., born 1861, w/o Benjamin M. Blose; Hiram E., born 1864, died 1902. John P., s/o Daniel, was born in Delmont. On Sept 12, 1878 he married Caroline M. Blose, d/o Daniel, and they had the following children; Benjamin R., born 1879, Daniel Blose, 1880 married Catherine Hunter; Mary Elizabeth, 1889; James Ewing, born 1891 and Joseph Cliffred, born 1894. Members of the 1st Lutheran Church of Greensburg. Blose, Christian, grandfather, emigrated in an early day, settled in Washington twp. Peter, grandson, of Washington twp. Lehigh county, was born June 12, 1829, s/o Jonas and Catharine Blose, Jonas Blose, died in 1869 Blose, James F. was born June 2, 1860, s/o Joel and Sarah Blose of Washington twp. He married in 1887 to Elizabeth Paulus. Children; Ralph and Minnie. "Bloss", Henry W. of Slatedate, was born June 19, 1857 to Joel and Sarah Bloss, the former was a native of Washington twp.
