Schuylkill Co. Straub, David W. (Dr) of Shenandoah, s/o Levi and Leah (Boyer), was born in Lower Towamensing twp. Carbon Co., Jan 28, 1855. The Straub family have been natives of Carbon co for the past 3 generations. David Straub, a life long resident of Carbon co. died 1877 age 77. He married Mary Olewin, and they had 11 children. John Boyer, maternal grandfather, was a native of Northampton county. Died in Carbon Co., about 1869 age about 93, He was the father of 8, 4 sons and 4 daughters. Levi Straub, father, was born in Lower Towamensing in 1828, he was the father of 3. David W., Anna Buck and Elmer, of Minersville, Schuylkill county. Dr. Straub, married Laura LeBar, d/o Jesse and Pamelia LeBar of Slatington, Lehigh Co, June 14, 1877. Children; Mabel L., C. Lee, Homer W. and Violet L. Drumheller, Jesse, of Pottsville, s/o Abraham and Sarah (Seitz), was born April 15, 1826, in Northumberland co. His father, a native of Montgomery county, moved to Sunbury, where he died 1839, age 61. Butz, Jonathan H., of Schuylkill Haven, s/o Nathan H., and Leander (Haas) Butz, was born in Lehigh County, Nov 25, 1829 His great-grandfather, Samuel, was a native of Germany. Coming to this country, he settled at Long Swamp, Berks Co. His grandfather, John Butz, was born in Long Swamp. His father was born Dec 1806. In 1826 he went to Lehigh county and in 1849 he moved to Schuylkill county. He married Leander Haas, they had 5 sons and 4 daughter. Mrs. Butz was born Aug 1809. Jonathan H. married Hannah Krebs, d/o Philip, of North Manheim, children; Eva, Carrie, and George. Brode, Samuel, of Tamaqua, s/o Thomas and Sarah (Olewine), May 27 1844 Michael Brode, paternal grandfather, was born in Monroe county. He moved to Luzerne Co. He had a large family, one of whom was Thomas J., father of Samuel. Thomas, was born 1819 Monroe Co. In 1842 he married Sarah, d/o Andreas Olewine. Children; Charles, Elmer, Benjamin, Samuel, and Sarah, w/o Dr. Charles Dreher. Samuel, married Lucy, d/o Israel and Elizabeth Miller, of Tamaqua, on May 27, 1866. Living children; Cora, w/o Dr. George W. Dreher of Shamokin, William, married Lizzie Lane, John, Thomas and Charles. Best Wishes, Geri
