Catherine LONG, b. 1834-36 in/near Mauch Chunk, Northampton Co., PA (Now Carbon Co.). In August 1862, three days before he left for the Civil War, Catherine LONG & David GARRETT (b. about 1836 in Centre Co., PA) were married in Mauch Chunk by John PRYOR, Justice of the Peace. They settled in Weatherly, Carbon Co., PA and had five children: Ella Jane, Mary Alice, Carrie, Lily & Harry. The only Catherine LONG I can find in the 1850 Census that is about the right age is with either the Jacob & Elizabeth LONG or William H. & Sabina LONG, both of Williams Twp., Northampton Co. I am so stuck... I would be so thankful for any help on Catherine LONG. Sandy Lewis
Hi Sandy, I would be interested if you ever find family for this Long group. My Dunn/Long family lived in Northampton before the end of 1700's then went to Va and fin ally Ky. James Dunn and Martha Long, and her father was a John Long as far as I know. I would love to know if there were more family. thanks, Roslyn -----
