It was the burial place for Irish Catholics of St. Patrick's Church of Yorkville, whose congregation came from Audenreid, Honeybrook, Yorkville and Beaver Brook (aka Frenchtown). These villages were at the apex of Hazle Twp., Luzerne County; Banks Twp., Carbon County and Rush (later Kline) Twp., Schuylkill County. When these villages dwindled, the church was moved to McAdoo where it is now. Most of the Irish here came from County Donegal.
