Francisca (Sigfried) was a native Carbon Co, born May 17, 1855. Her paternal grandparents, Daniel and Julia (Detter) Sigfried, were residents of Northampton Co, and her father, Williiam H. Sigfried, was born in June 1837, a Civil war vet, he moved to Luzerne Co. He married Eva Green, a native of Carbon Co, and died in Luzerne Co, Feb. 1891, aged 53 and was buried adjoining Conyngham Valley Church, Mrs. Kresge was the eldest in a family of 8, the others being, William, of Luzerne, married Emma Shiner, Leandershear, married Frances Readler, and lived in Luzerne Co., Sarah, married Samuel Shiner, of Luzerne Co., Alice married Peter Hunter of Luzerne, Calvin, of Hazelton who married Mary Hicks, Horatio, of Hazelton married Lizzie Realaser, Edward who married Daisy Shiner, and lived in Hazelton and Osual, married Reuben Shad of Hazelton. Shiner, Alexander, was born in Sugar Loaf township, June 14, 1840, s/o Chester aind Lydia (Wenner?) Shiner, His paternal grandfather, James Shiner, son of Andrew and Margaret (Smith) Shiner, all pioneers of Sugar Loaf township. James Shiner, married Jennie Chesney, children; Andrew, Margaret, Susan, who married Jacob Kiper, Chester, father of Alexander, Justius, James, Hannah who married ___ Bennett, and Ellen who married James K. Drake. Chester, father of Alexander, was a native of Columbia Co. (Briar Creek) moved to Sugar Loaf, and died there. His wife was a daughter of George Werner? of Luzerne Co. Children; Alexander, Eliza, married D.W. Zeher, Daniel, Melinda, married John Wagner, Martha, married A. W. Minick, Chester, Samuel, and Lydia, married Nathan Knelly. Shiner, Nathaniel, was born in Sugar Loaf, Sept 17 1844, s/o Chester W. and Lydia (Wenner) Shiner, she was the daughter of George Wenner, his paternal grandfather, was a Rev. war soldier. Nathanielm the 3rd in a family of 13 children was a Civil war vet. He married twice, first on Dec 25, 1865 to Esther, d/o David and Catharine (Godshall) Shellhammer, natives of Luzerne Co and one child was born, William C., The wife died April 1, 1882, he married 2nd time Jan 22 1884 to Mary Dreher of Mahonoy City.
