Straub, David W. M.D. of Shenandoah, was the son of Levi and Leah (Boyer) Straub, born in Lower Towamensing township, Carbon County, Jan 28, 1855. Grandfather, David Straub, was a life long resident, and died there in 1877, aged 79. Grandfather David married Mary Olwine, by whom he had 11 children; John Boyer, maternal grandfather of Dr. Straub, was a native of Northampton County which at the time of his birth was still connected with Carbon county. He died in Carbon county about 1869 aged 93. He had a family of 4 sons and 4 daughters. Levi Straub, was born in Lower Towamensing township, in 1828. He was the father of 3 children, David W., Ann Buck and Elmer. Dr. David W., married Laura LeBar, d/o Jesse and Pamelia LeBar, of Slatington, Lehigh County, June 14, 1877. Children; Mabel L., C. Lee, Homer W., and Violte L. Meck, Charles A., of Schuylkill County, a son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Meck. He was born in Heidelberg township, Berks county, June 16, 1831. His paternal grandfather, Samuel Meck, was a native of Germany. His father Benjamin Meck was born in Berks Co., and died in Bechtel township, in 1890 aged 83. Member of the Reformed Church. He married Elizabeth Ruth, d/o Jacob of Berks Co. Charles A. married Priscilla Hartman, d/o Daniel of Bethel township, Berks. Children; Pierce, a phyician, located at Nanticoke, Luzerne county, Thomas, Jennie, w/o M. F. Nagle, Milton, Hattie, wiife of H.A. Hesser, Kate the wife of Charles F. Derr Achenbach, David, of Northampton County, was born Feb 14, 1840, s/o Jacob and Sabina (Moyer). The parental family was large, children, Samuel of Northampton, Michael of Bethlehem, David (subject), William of Iowa, Emma, wife of James Roth, of CT, Joel, of Plainfield,Carrie, wife of William Foneystuck and they lived in Harrisburg and Peter. David married in 1864 to Sabina Ruth, Children, Lucinda J., wife of James E. Gum, Edwin J., Mary, wife of William Freeman, Lewis P., Minnie S. and Emos D. Best Wishes, Geri
