This is the History of Bucks Co., by Davis, so a word to the wise. Althouse, editor of the Sellersville Herald, was born in Sellersville, Dec 12, 1874, s/o Milton D., and Elizabeth (Nace). The pioneer anecestor of the family was Arndt (Andrew) Althouse, came from Germany in the Ship Fane, Oct 17, 1749. He located on the Tuhickon near Church Hill, in Haycock township. He and his Anna Maria were members of Tohickon Reformed Church and their son Daniel was baptized there March 4, 1753. Daniel Althoue, of Haycock township, located 1n 1785 to Bedminster township, he died in 1795. He was twice married and left the following children; Maria, Frederick, Abraham, Conrad, Michael, Jacob,and Rebecca by the first wife, and Isaac, Elizaberh, Daniel, Martin and George by the second wife. Frederick, born in Haycock township in 1783, died Jan 26, 1852, he married Susanna Schlicter,of Rockhill township. Children; Thomas, Elias, Daniel, James, Andrew, Elizabeth, wife ofEnos Sellers, Hannah, wife of Isaac Brand, Mary, wife of Noah Weisel, Abigail, Elias, was born and reared at Rockhill. He was born Aug 5, 1814, died July 1869. He married Maria Dietz, of Rockhill and they had children, Milton D., Susanna, wife of Thomas Leister, Elizabeth,wife of Peter R. "Ziegenfuss", Herny, John, Thomas, William, Amos, and Emma, the wife of Charles Himmelwright Milton D. was born in Rockhill, Jan 6, 1841. He marrried Oct 15, 1863 to Elizabeth Nace, their son Elmer E., was in 1874, he married June 30, 1897 to Margaret G. Leeinbach, d/o Rev. Samuel A., and Margaret (Everhart) Leinbach. Children; Samuel L., born 1899 and Mary Elizabeth, born 1905. Althouse, Albert C. M.D. of Bedminster, Bucks Co., is a descendant of Daniel Althouse. Martin Althouse, son of Daniel had a farm near Keller's Church. He married Catharine "Sigafos". Children who reached maturity were; Martin, Levi, Tobias, Mathais, and Silas. Tobias, son of Martin. He served in the Mexican War and also in the Civil war.He married Elizabeth Kramer, of Bedminster, d/o John. Children; Catharine, Samuel K., and Reubin. The mother died in 1843, the father died Jan 13, 1865. Samuel K., son of Tobias, was born June 11, 1837, in Noxkamixon township. He married Nov 25, 1860 to Sarah Ann Crouthamel, and they children; Sarah, died in childhood, Albert C., Mary, wife of Edwin J. Rumer, Ema, Edwin, Reubin of Washtington, DC. Albert C. married 10 Oct 1894 to Ida, d/o of Jonas H. Lear of Tinicum township, Bucks Co. Children; Harold Lear, Georgie Neta, and Jessie Beulah. Hinkle, Tobias Cressman, of Richland township born Aug 29, 1830, s/o Elias and Rebecca (Cressman Hinkel. He married in 1859 to Maria B. d/o Michael and Catharine (Althouse) Biehn. Her father was a son of Abram and Mary (Martin) Biehn, and he was born in 1810, he married Catharine Althoue, June 10, 1838 and their chidren were. Maria, born 1840 married Tobias Hinkle, Elizabeth, born 1847 and lived with her sister, Mrs. Hinkle, Milton, born 1851, of West Chester, he married Sarah Edward, do Benjamin of Quakertown. Tobias and Maria had children; Harry Wilson, born 1863,, he married Olivia, d/o Levi and Sarha (Setzler) Clymer. Nelson, born 1869, died Aug 9, 1901, he married Clara Weile, d/o Allen and Harriet (Hedman) Weile. Biehn, Miton Althouse, of West Chester, was born June 31, 1851, at Bunker Hill, now Richland, s/o Michael Martin and Catharine (Althouse) Biehn, and a grandson of Abram and Mary (Martin) Biehn Michael Martin Biehn, was born in Richland, Oct 3, 1810. On Jun 10, 1838 he married Catharine Althouse, d/o Daniel and Elizabeth (Wert) Althouse. Children; Maria, married Tobias Hinkle of Richlad. Milton Althouse Biehn, married Dec 11, 1877 to Sarah Edwards, d/o Benjamin Roberts and Lydia (Bartholomew) Edwards of Quakertown. Benjamin Roberts Biehn, married Nov 13, 1853 to Lydia Bartholomew, d.o Henry and Ann (Bleam) Bartholomew. Best Wishes, Geri
