    3. George BEtz, married Rebecca Hummer, d/o Jacob and Rebecca (Freimeier) Hummer. George died in Mechanicsburg, Cumberland Co, in 1885, aged 73. His wife died died in Lewisberry, York Co., PA, aged 60 Jacob Hummer was a son of John George Hummer, born at New Holland, Lancaster Co. in 1758 and died at White Oak in 1854 aged 96. His wife Rebecca Freimeier, passed away in 1815, aged 38. One of their daughters, Catharine Hummer, married a nephew of Dr. Benjamin Rush of Phila. Dr. Israel H. Betz, son of George, was born in Penn township, Lancaster County, Dec 16, 1841. In 1869 Dr Betz marriedd Rebecca F. Weitzel, d/o John and Nancy (Fisher) Weitzel. John Weitzel, the paternal grandfather of Rebecca F., was of Dauphin County, and was survived by his widow, Christina (Marsh) Weitzel, who was born in 1777 and died 1850. She was buried at the Weitzel plot at Salem United Brethren Church, in Fishing Creek Valley. John Weitzel, father of Mrs. Dr. Betz, was one of the orignal members of Salem Church, and was also the first person to be buried in its cemetery, in 1844. Gottlieb Fisher, the maternal great-grand father of Mrs. Dr. Betz, was an early settler of Fishing Creek Valley in York County. From Gottlieb Fisher and his wife Ursula Fisher sprang a large number of descendants in the upper end of the county, many of whom to distant locations. His son, David Fisher was the grandfather of Mrs. Betz. Best Wishes, Geri
