Hello to everyone on the Carbon County mailing list. After many dead ends, I've just hit a significant lead on my search for the "appropriate" Woodrings. I believe I have located my clan in the 1880 census. They are listed in the 2nd Ward, Mauch Chunk, Carbon, PA. I am researching George and Sarah Woodring and children Creighton, Mary, Calvin, William, and Belden. I believe the child Calvin listed above is my g-grandfather. He married Bridget Swift in Lackawanna County, PA in 1888. The family resided in Scranton and Dunmore, PA. If anyone has any info to share on this family, I would be most appreciative. Also, could someone tell me how to pronounce "Mauch Chuck?" I live in SC and I'm sure I'm doing the name a great dis-service. thanks, janice hart olds [email protected]

But she was married to William Redgate. They lived in Lansford, PA. We also have Dougherty. One of the Gallagher children married a Emmet Dougherty. In the 1880 census, they are living in Weatherly with daughters Lizzie (4) and Emma (2). In 1900 they are in Lehighton; Lizzie and Emma are no longer in the household (married?). Cannot find the family in 1910. I think Mahlon may have died by then. I believe Mahlon was Lutheran; his father was anyway.
