Hi, this stuff will drive us crazy, but what the heck. I know the Walton were Quakers, but Nathaniel got thrown out and became a Baptist. So that leads to wonder, was Boaz a Quaker or a Baptist. And we also know that some Waltons married some Gilberts, and Gilberts married into McDaniels. But the Gilberts that married Walton, were not from Nathaniel, but his brother, Daniel married Mary Lamb and they were Quakers and their children; Samuel, Daniel, Joshua, Joseph, Benjamin, born 1693, married Rebecca Homer, and their children; 1.Elizabeth married 1st Bryan Peart, 2nd Benjamin Gilbert, 3. Daniel, born 1728, married Sarah Gilbert,d/o Benjamin 7. Benjamin married Abigial Gilbert, sister to Sarah, wife of Daniel But the Waltons of Stroudsburg branch were from Thomas, the second of the Walton Brothers. Now I go to check McDaniel and wouldn't know some of them changed their name to McDonald. Now I go back to Walton, Rev War and there is a William Walton, NJ line solder was born 25 March 1763 in Morris Co. NJ, soldier's father was killed in the Battle of Germanton, soldier lived in Morris Co. at enlistment then moved to Northampton, PA and then to Luzrene Co. He applied 1833 having lived there since 1816. In 1857 it was stated that soldier had been dead 10 or 15 years So that has to mean there was another branch of Walton, since William Walton (Stroudsburgh) was born in Moreland Co, Montogmery Co. PA, about 1735 Northampton Co 19 Sept 1783, Estate of Benjamin Gilbert, Penn township, widow, Elizabeth, now of Phila. Co., children; Joseph, eldest son, Benjamin, John, Joshua, Caleb, Jesse, Richael, wife of William Walton, Abigail, wife of Benjamin Walton, Sarah, wife of Daniel Walton, Abner, minor, Rebecca, mimor, Elisabeth, minor. Guardian Jacob Comley History of Chester Co. Peart, Bryan, whitesmith, from Haurskip, Yorkshire, England, died in 1706 in Duck Creek, DE leaving a widow and several children; Benjamin married Rachel d.o Richard and Elizabeth (Rush) Collett, and among their children had a son, Bryan, married in Gloria Dei Church, Nov 30, 1752 to Elizabeth Walton, of Byberry, by whom there were Benjamin, born 1753, Rebecca, born 1754, and Thomas, born 1756. After the death of Brya Peart, his widow married (license Aug 18, 1760) Benjamin Gilbert, the Indian captive, and in 1775 moved to the Mahoning Valley, Northampton Co. On April 25, 1780, Benjamin Gilbert and family including his wife's sons, Benjamin and Thomas Peart, were taken by the Indians, their dwelling burned, and they were forced to march to NY. Benjamin Peart was then married to Elizabeth Jones, aged 9 months, one of the captives. Benjamin Gilbert, after their return in 1782, resided for several years at Byberry, but about 1814 moved with his family to Salem, Ohio. Thomas Peart was adopted by an Indian family on the Genesse River, his release was obtained by the interfernce of Col. Johnson, a British officer at Niagara. After his return he married Mary Roberts, d/o Lewis Roberts of Abington, and about 1790 moved to a farm in Fallowfield, Chester County. His first wife died near Columbia in 1823 and he married 1827 to Sarah (Paxon) Cooper, widow of Calvin Cooper. He died 3/19/1831 in his 75th year. Children of Thomas and Mary; Rebecca, born 1789, married Israel Cooper, of Columbia,John born 1791, Benjamin, born 1796, Abner, 1798, Daniel, 1801, Mary Ann, 1803 married John Cooper of Columbia, Thomas, 1806, Lewis, born 2/22/1806 married Abana Gilbert. Walton Family-Four brothers, Nathanieal, Daniel, Thomas and William, came to PA at an early date and settled in Byberry, Phila. Co. Several branches of the family migrated to Chester Co., among the rest was Joshua Walton, who moved to New Garden township. His son Issac married Isabella Starr, and his children were Reuben, David, William, Isaac, Sarah, married George Meredith, and Elizabeth. Marriages Boaz Walton to Rebecca Leech, 24 Dec 1762 Boaz Walton to Mary "Assheton" June 16, 1773 Daniel Walton to Sarah Gilbert 1 Sept 1761 Best Wishes, Geri
