    3. Hi John, Wetzel is my interest. My great-grandmother was Susan (nee Wetzel) Hinkle Northumberland Co. History The Zartmans of Jackson township. \\ Alexander Zartman and his wife Ann Catharine came from Germany in the summer of 1728. They were classified with the German Pa;atines, but it is more possible that they came frm the province of Wurtemberg, possibly from Erienbach. They found their way to the region of Tulpehocken, southwest of Reading in Berks Co, not far from the Muddy Creek Lutheran and Reformed Church, where they worshiped in 1728-29. Before 1730 however they located in Warwick township, Lancaster County. They had two sons, Jacob and Alexander. Alexander, son of the emigrant, was born July 29, 1731, near Brickerville,Lancaster Co, he lived to be 72. His homestead remaimed in the family until about 1907, descending through his son Emanuel to Alexander 3, Jacob, George, David, and William son of David. To Alexander Zartman2 and his wife Magdalena were born children as follows, John Michael, Alexander, Susanna, Maria Elizabeth, Catharine, Emanuel and Margaret. The three sons became the heads of large families, and their posterity is scattered over many States of the Union. Jacob, ancestor of the Zartmans of Northumnerland county, may have been born in Germany. He received his inheritance from his parents in 1754. In about 1758 he came to Mahanoy township, Northumberland county. He married Anna Margareth Roemin (Ream). I know they intermarried with the Peifers and they Peifers intmarried with the Wetzels There was a John Peifer, born 1784 married Elizabeth Miller, one of their daughter married Jerre Wetzel and their daughter, Betzy married James Wetzel. Their son, George, born 1812,he married Catharine Zimmerman, their daugther Lenah married D.M. Zartman, and their son, George C., married Mary J. Zartman, d/o Abraham Zartman. Jeremiah Wetzel, son of John, died Feb 4, 1887 aged 73y 11m 23d, married Magdalena Peifer Best Wishes, Geri

    3. Was going to go to my family history center to order the death indexes for Carbon county, but before I went, I went back to the obits for Bridget Shannon Sheridan and James Sheridan noting that each said their last residence was in Park View. I did a USGS search on Park View in Pennsylvania and it came up being in Allegheny county. Now I'm a little confused, why would people who lived in Carbon county from about 1850-1900, move to Allegheny county, to die in 1902? Obviously there must be a Park View in Carbon county. Since there are 3 separate death index films for Carbon, each for several locales, I want to make sure that I order the right one. I was going to order the one for Banks, Packer, Franklin, Penn Forest, Parryville, Kidder, East Mauch Chunk, Nesquehoning, Weissport, Est Side Boro. The others are for: Summit Hill, Lehigh, Lausanne; or for Lehighton, Mahoning, Towamensing, East Penn, Weatherly, Mauch Chunk. Can someone help figure this out? Pam In Oregon
