    3. Debra, Not sure if you were asking ME, but I searched thru [5] different STROHL family histories (of mine) and don't see a Barbara (BORGER) STROHL yet. I DO have a Barbara (STROHL) with a Mary E. (BORGER) for a mother. Just thought I'd mention it. 3. Dear Turkey/Dost, [I chose to reply to your email on the board, because THIS family is still confusing and confounding researchers, INCLUDING MYSELF.....;=) Maybe someone else can "weigh in," also. Turkey/Dost. . . . I don't know if this will help you, and I haven't seen it put this extensively on the board in a long time. But THE FOLLOWING is the way I'VE put it together, and I spent quite of bit of time putting this extensive family together---I don't think ANY TWO people have put it ALL TOGETHER the SAME WAY---TWICE, which is interesting!! Someone, please show me a more plausible listing, and please list some of your resources for us. Thanks. In the meantime, I have listed Conrad STROHL and Rosina (BOCK) as the parents of Nicholas C. STROHL, and I chose Nicholas "C" as their son because the baptism AND his Date of Birth, corresponds to Nicholas "C"'s known DOB--from his headstone---I visited the stone myself. NOW, can anyone tell me CONRAD's parents????? On the other hand, there is another Nicholas---Nicholas "D" STROHL. I've chosen HIM, as well as Johann Adam STROHL, born 1800, and Peter STROHL, born 1792, as the sons of Daniel and Barbara STROHL; Daniel was born ca 1748, I believe. Daniel presented his son, Nicholas, for baptism on August 5, 1798, to the St. John's Union Church, Towamensing, etc. This Nicholas' date of birth is given as May 18, 1798, which we just HAPPEN to know, is the same DOB listed for Nicholas "D" STROHL on his headstone! Throughout the censuses, he is also listed as, N.T. Finally, a "Nicholas STROHL presented Petition for Admin of [estate] of the late Daniel STROHL, Towamensing Twp, died intestate, left [8] children to wit: . ." ---Catherine, Polly, Betsey, Molly, Susanna, Marie, Nicholas, Peter---I have also included Johann Adam as one of his children for a couple other reasons, including Johann's Baptism record listing Nicholas and Barbara as parents, and a book reference from L. Wesley ARGO. ======================================== As for the Nicholas C. STROHL children---see how THIS looks:: 1st Wife: Lydia (WEISS) 1- Maria "Polly" STROHL, b. 1822 2- Joel, born 1824 3- Sophia, born ca 1823 4- Lydia, born ca 1827 5- Sallie, born ca 1830 6- Annete, born ca 1832 7- Conrad, born in 1833 8- Eva/Eve, born in 1835 9- Unk child, d. in infancy 10- Unk child, d. in infancy 11- Unk child, d. in infancy 12- Unk child, d. in infancy -------------------------------- 2nd wife: Sarah (WEISS) 1- Harrison, b. 1837 2- Levi, born 1839 3- William Henry, b. 1842 4- Caroline, born 1843 5- Rebecca, born ca 1845 6- Savannah, born ca 1844 7- Fietta/Fyetta, born in 1850 8- Ephriam E, born 1852 9- Infant Rosine, born 1841 10- Infant STROHL, born ? 11- Infant STROHL, born ? 12- Infant STROHL, born ? 13- Infant STROHL, born ? -------------------------------------- 3rd Wife: Elena "Lena" (ANDREAS/ANDREWS) 1- Thomas Franklin STROHL, b. 1857 2- Susanna, born ca 1858 3- Priscilla, born ca 1861 4- Elias, born in 1864 5- Daniel, born& died 1863-64 6- Allen/Alvin/Alfred, born ca 1869 7- Gabriel, born April 1870 8- Ellen/Ella, born ca 1875 ---------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, March 21, 2004 11:44
